Tuesday - The Armpit of the Week

Yes. It is Tuesday. And it is the armpit of the week. Boy the second isn't too happy about it either. He's a quick study - I only weep because he has a lifetime of Tuesdays ahead of him. I think he senses the foreboding also - hence the bad mood.

He was so upset - he gnawed off his left hand. Good thing we're not planning on any trips to the Middle East, because he'd have no way to wipe his bum.

"But Dad - that's what skid marks are for." Boy the second says.

...

Well he's got a point. Let's get that ticket to Constantinople. [No - It's Istanbul.] Istanbul was Constantinople? Now it's Istanbul not Constantinople - I . . . Feel . . . a Song Comin' On!:

Istanbul was Constantinople
Now it's Istanbul, not Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Now it's Turkish delight on a moonlit night

Every gal in Constantinople
Lives in Istanbul, not Constantinople
So if you've a date in Constantinople
She'll be waiting in Istanbul

Even old New York was once New Amsterdam
Why they changed it I can't say
People just liked it better that way

So take me back to Constantinople
No, you can't go back to Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Why did Constantinople get the works
That's nobody's business but the Turks

Istanbul (Istanbul)
Istanbul (Istanbul)

Even old New York was once New Amsterdam
Why they changed it I can't say
People just liked it better that way

Istanbul was Constantinople
Now it's Istanbul, not Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Why did Constantinople get the works
That's nobody's business but the Turks

So take me back to Constantinople
No, you can't go back to Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Why did Constantinople get the works
That's nobody's business but the Turks

Suddenly Tuesday doesn't seem so bad. . .

Thank you. I watched Hellboy 2 last night, and until just now I had Barry Manilow's "I Can't Smile Without You" stuck in my head.
