Cinco de Mayo Celebration

I hope that everyone enjoyed their Mexican holiday yesterday. I enjoyed myself spending the day humming: 'Feliz Navidad' and 'La Bamba'. I also remembered the important Mexican people in history that helped shape our country to what it is today: Zorro - Oscar de la Hoya - Julio Cesar Chavez - Sbarro's Pizza - Julio down by the school yard - Maria and Luis from Sesame Street and of course Anthony Quinn.

I brought the brood to our local Mexican restuarante - I'm sensitive to the current situations though. I like to think that I'm hip, up-to-date and have my finger on the pulse of what's important. I made sure that each of us had a double-ply of surgical masks on to offset the chances of catching Swine Flu. I asked our server to not touch our utensils - and I brought our own beverages. When the food was brought out - I had taken out the blue-light antibacterial and virus killer - we had the food sit under the light for five minutes prior to eating. When it was time to pay the check - I had paid in cash so that we wouldn't have to exchange my card and expose that to risk.

Eric - our server - seemed offended and brought out the manager. We were asked to not return to Taco Bell. We're just trying to celebrate with our Mexican hemanos.

I always put my best foot forward for the servers, don't want them to find out I'm an ass and spit or worse in my food.

your first commenter makes a good point- if you're a jerk to your server, you're more likely to get their spit in your food. and spit is definitely a bad thing, especially when trying to avoid the swine flu. hope all your precautions prove successful in avoiding the flu.

Too often, Julio down by the schoolyard is forgotten when the topic of great Mexicans comes up. As is the guy who wrote the Mexican Hat Dance, Mr. Percy Hedgehog. Let us not forget.

OMG Bob.. that is too much.. What's so funny about the whole thing is I totally sang LaBamba all day too... I love my Mexicans!

Well he's lookin for anything really. He's a corrections officer now and he's really burnt out on that. So he's looking for anything that isn't corrections. He's done some warehouse work. He just wants a job that he can put in a hard days work and not have a ton of life and death responsibility.

Hey Bob, how's that new pup doin'. I don't know about the rest of blog world, but I sure would be thrilled with some pictures. And I'm really old and hard to thrill, but I'm pretty sure puppy pictures might just take me to the edge.
