Writers Corner

It is the 7th of March, Saturday 2009 as I transfer these words onto the writing pad. I've had fun the last few posts putting down a different form of media on the blog post. I hope that you found them entertaining.

The nice thing about the blog, is that it isn't tied down to any specific sort of medium. Sure - if you want to use it as a personal journal, so be it. If you want to use it as a photograph journal go right ahead. The point is the template is wide open, and is only constrained by your creativity.

"But Eskimo Bob. I want to use my blog for cloning myself for the future generations of hot chicks."

Ok - so there may be some limitations. But it's not the blog's fault - it is your own deficiency.

The true beauty of the blog - is that it isn't new. Sure it's current manifestation on the cyberspace is new, but when our ancestor's got together on a cold rainy night and decided to tell stories - they just plastered it on the cave wall. As decades passed then Joe Pulitzer hired someone to write an opinion on the happenings in the country, or just New York. Then a few more decades passed, and the radio came on - and well, I'm not sure what happened there. Then some other stuff happened - and here we are.

Which brings me to the topic at hand: Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. After his death a few years ago PBS decided to pull the show. Needless to say parents were upset. After all - the lessons Mr. Rogers taught are still applicable today as they were in the 70's and 80's. We don't need purple dinosaurs or gender unspecific thingers, or rainforest sloths to teach our youth. We need Mr. Rogers back on the air - mostly because he has a song I definitely want to post:

I'm Angry, and I can tell you why.
The reason I am angry is that,
Somebody Made me feel very small.
And all - of a sudden I cried -
I almost lied, and said I wasn't scared.
But I was scared.
And now -
I'm angry.
I'm angry. . .
So I'm happy to report that Mr. Roger's Neighborhood is back on PBS. Sunday mornings at 5:00 AM. . . WTF!?!?! Will someone DVR it, and keep an eye out for the Angry Song - then send me an MP3 copy of it? Is that asking too much?

Oh, I liked that. Not familiar with the song, but those are great lyrics - and a nice thing for the kids to model if they need to.

The world could stand to learn a few things from that man. Smart guy.

It's a sad world we live in when Mr. Rogers can't even go syndicated at a human hour; who the devil is up at 5am? Hopefully NOT the children! This. Is. Ridiculous.

And speaking of neighborhoods, happy to see you back!

I hope that you'll remember
Even when you're feeling blue
That it's you I like,
It's you yourself,
It's you...it's you I like.
