Hooray for Hollywood

I know I already posted, but I didn't post yesterday, so I thought that I should catch up. So it's kinda phoning it in, but I'm entitled. Why? Because it's my blog - that's why~

So today we're discussing the best of the best. Which is still debatable - because Oscar doesn't always go with the best movie of the year. Exhibit Uno - Garbage Pail Kids the Movie. Exhibit Sen - Masters of the Universe. And the rhino bringing up the end: Anything skewered by Mike / Joel and his robots. Seriously - research the last one, and enjoy!!

This is taken from a blog on Yahoo. I have embedded the link so you can participate. I really think it needs your help, as I think most folks who have voted were born after 1985 and really think that Crash deserved to win the Oscar. But hey, it's in your hands now.

EB signing off.

The Ultimate Best Picture - Round 1, Day 1

posted by Jonathan Crow - Tue Feb 3 2009, 8:29 AM PST

There have been 80 films in Academy Awards history that have savored the sweet taste of victory and been crowned "Best Picture." But which of these anointed films is actually the best "Best Picture" of all time? "The Godfather?" "Casablanca?" "Shakespeare in Love?" We here at Yahoo! Movies aim to answer this question once and for all. We want you to decide which film is the "Ultimate Best Picture."

To do so, we have grouped together 30 Oscar-winning standouts along with each film that won over the past ten years, totaling up to 40 titles. Think of it as the prelim round of the Olympics. For round one, there are eight divisions consisting of five movies. The titles are grouped on a loosely thematic basis, with five different decades represented in each division. The winners of round one will go on to one-on-one match ups in the quarterfinals. And the winners there will go on, Sweet 16-style, to the semis. It all leads up to crowning the champion on February 17th. Game on.

Group A

No Country For Old Men (2007)
Platoon (1986)
The Godfather II (1974)
On The Waterfront (1954)
The Silence of the Lambs (1991)

Titanic (1997)
Amadeus (1984)
The French Connection (1971)
All About Eve (1950)

Group C

So that's it so far - pick which you think is the best, and see what everyone else thinks in the results posted in the Chit Chat.
