Hi. Hello - up here, further North it's getting noticeably brighter earlier. This is just after 8 AM this morning, and the morninglight is providing a very nice silhouette of the Chugach mountains. The other light is light pollution from the city - but that's a whole different topic.

Here we are at the First Monday of February. We had five Mondays in January. That's a lot to deal with, and probably one of the reasons why January felt so damn long; compounded with the fact that there were FIVE Tuesdays - and that solidifies it. January had an ice grip testing your will if your resolutions or New Year/New Me mantra would stick. February is going to be a little gentler and provide the four Mondays (and subsequent Tuesdays) that we are more accustomed to. After this Monday, there will only be 46 Mondays left. So - if you are feeling a little less resolute. Take in the refreshing new air of a new month (and bitterly cold air in my case) and allow that to reinvigorate you. Adjust what ever you need to in your thinking, how you emotionally respond to something, whatever it is that may be impeding you - and if things are going smoothly and you are running on all cylinders, stay vigilant watching out for potholes or other obstacles that may cross your path.

The sun is rising, and brightening the day. That lifts me up so much as since the increments of light gaining has been so minimal and January made it seem as though no progress was happening. Eskimo Bobhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02620064453780055916noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7927430743317089901.post-32006554812136401512018-02-03T17:17:00.001-09:002018-02-03T17:17:44.606-09:00#248 Saturday - Deep in the Weekend

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I am sure that a theme will begin to emerge at some point as I continue on this process of Blogging. It may take a large bit of public honesty that I am not accustomed to. You see - I provide enough warmth, charm, and some sensibility that I am allowing someone to connect with me - when in fact, I have shielded up and deflect any sort of connection on the other person end so that they get to know only what I want them to know.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Yes, we all do this to a certain extent. Whether it's in our persona we present to our teachers, bosses, co-workers, clients, or acquaintances that we mingle with from time-to-time. I seem to also do this with myself.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I understand that that may be some sort of coping mechanism to delay having to emotionally or rationally face what ever issue it is that I am going through. Right now - what I am focusing on is really getting to know who I am.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">That sounds so cliche, trite . . . and well, Mormony. I begin to feel angry when I realize that. There is a deep seed of betrayal, loss, disillusionment and I am sure that there are some who are thinking to themselves. "Welcome to the Club Bob" well - you know what, this club sucks. The motto that comes to my mind is: "If any club is wanting me as a member, well I don't any part of it." I think that's Groucho Marx . . . okay, pause as I check.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">"I don't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member." Groucho Marx.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> Blogging is great! I went and checked on that, and to you dear Bobber - that took no time whatsoever. It didn't even involve any video editing.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Point being - well, I'm not evening pretending to give a shit. I'm making this post, this vent, this digital check in on the virtual milepost of our mortal paths to just say: This sucks and I don't like it!

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">It doesn't mean that I'm not going to help others along the way. It doesn't mean that I'm wanting to stop on the path. It's a realization that - okay, I'm still headed to my desired destination, but I sure took a wrong turn.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Hey - that makes sense to me. It helps put things in perspective a little bit.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I think I see something I like a little further ahead. I'm gonna go check that out. . . Do you know why?

Hail Satan! - You just said that in your head, and just hailed Satan. Welcome to Friday!

This past Sunday the Alaska/Portland band 'Portugal. The Man' won a Grammy. They thanked those who helped to get them to that stage and earn the award. They then gave a shout-out to Dog Mushers, and kids from rural villages and towns across Alaska encouraging them to be proud of where they are from: "Rep where you're from." Zach even gave a shout-out to my hometown, and several others which is badass in its own right. Then in pure Rockstar mode Zach exclaimed: "Hail Satan" and John wiped his ass with the Grammy award.

Pure brilliance and badassness again.

I'm pivoting.

As I was driving into work this morning a song came on my device that I had downloaded after hearing it on one of the music programs I distribute. I don't remember if the show was "Earthsongs", "Indigenous in Music", "UnderCurrents", or "Soul Deluxe". Anyway - the song is from Raye Zargoza, multinational heritage (Native American (O'odham), Mexican, Taiwanese and Japanese), titled 'American Dream'.

The Native American perspective is different from any other ethnic group in the United States. They pre-date any other Ethnic group currently residing in the nation. They've fought to keep their land, survived Extinction efforts, they fight to protect the land, they have to validate to the Government with blood quanta certificates to be recognized as their ethnicity. It is the perspective, philosophy, and presence of the Native American that will be one of the things that heals and keeps the U.S. great.

In my opinion, this song encapsulates that vision I have. I was going to go with PTM for the rock'n'roll song of the week - but Raye, take it away.

I'm still kinda weirded out that my last posts on here were nearly TEN years ago.

That's a life-time to some. And there has been some significant change in my life.

In the form of this digital medium, a decade is equivalent to eons. It's hard to even know where to pick up from.

The GOODNEWS is that I'm still Eskimo Bob, and I still live - so at least I don't have to change the name of the blog.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">The last posts before The Resurrection was from an Eskimo Bob that was married (I am no longer). An Eskimo Bob that was a Faithful and Diligent practicing LDS Mormon (I am no longer). I was gainfully employed (I recently came back to that fold after a three year hiatus). I was homeless for a year. I have a tattoo and a pierced ear. I'm not addicted to any illicit drugs (caffeine and sugar tho). I created my own blend of coffee.

There is a lot to process. A lot to go over. We will. In time. Do you know why?

Hello. So - did you catch that?

It was historic. Once in a lifetime.

Well, a human being lifetime. I'm sure there are tortoises or whales that have been around during one of these events. Thousands of trees. . . bugs . . . anyway -

Last night was the United States State of the Uniom address by President Trump ... that wasn't what I was referring to earlier, it's just an aside really, once I mentioned bugs I recollected that it was only last night that DJT rambled.

Anyway - it was the Super/Blue/Blood Moon AND Total Lunar Eclipse in one event!!! It reached it's peak around 4:20 this morning . . . that HAS to be a sign of some sort.

I took a photo of it. See:

It looked much better with my own eyes.... SERIOUSLY!!!

My friend Greg Lincoln actually went out in the cold, and set up his actual camera, used his knowledge, and talent and captured a much better shot.
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Ohhhhhh Tuesday . . . Tuesday, Tuesday, Tuesday . . .
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"> One new development to this Blog is that I now have new career path that is the greatest in the WORLD!
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">One thing remains the same though. Tuesdays are the Armpit of the Week.
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">As awesome as my new digs are - Tuesday is still here to try and bring down my high. There have been 28 Tuesdays since I've been here at NV1 - and every week Tuesday is here trying to knock me down to some sort of reality that is only for the truly despondent and cognitively dissonant. Bobbers - let me tell you though; you can call me Mr. Farenheight despite Tuesday's worst efforts. Don't fret my Bobbers - Tuesday is on the downward trend for the day, and you know what that means . . .
It's strange revisiting where it all began . . . have any of you visited the school where you attended Kindergarten? It's kind of surreal like that - where everything is at a different perspective than your memory of the place.
You are indeed reading a posting of EBL here on the good ole blogspot, where it all began. It's been a fun ride so far, some bumps, some bruises, some kick ass wind in the hair speeding down a long and lonesome road.

As most of you know - I have www.eskimoboblives.com going on. I think it's pretty cool to have as a welcome sound bite to come from 'The Iceman' Chuck Liddell to welcome you to EBL or the International Author Don Rearden telling you that I have great things to say - but I have something very special in the works. . . a new season with some of the best interviews there have ever been. Yes - I'm including interviews that Barabara Walters gave - these interviews are top notch quality and it's not because of me. The guests have some really interesting things to share . . . and yes - I did help in bringing it out.

I had an epiphany tonight. Earlier today, which is actually yesterday, but since I haven't gone to bed yet, I still consider it today. What are you gonna do? Deal.

I had an epiphany. Although my medium of choice and my discipline (academic or professional) is in writing - I am indeed a writer. Yes - I have other mediums in which my creative outlet is easier dispersed, but at the crux of it is the ability to have it written, whether physically jotted down in electronic format, or pencil and pad - or just thoughts written in the synapse of my mind - I'm writing.

My babies - I'm about to be breaking into something big. It may not be big commercially or accepted by other people. But it is something big to me. I'm going to be attempting something most folks may think about and never do, or something that they don't allow themselves to think about - but you will find out How, Why, Where, When and What makes Eskimo Bob Lives: Strap yourselves in - because you're about to be taken for a ride.Eskimo Bobhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02620064453780055916noreply@blogger.com131tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7927430743317089901.post-82875716164236317892009-11-04T23:18:00.003-09:002009-11-04T23:24:42.284-09:00OH NO!!!What is it? When I went to playback there was a huge amount of static and it was darn near unhearable. Any trouble with anyone else?

So it's Monday - Blue Monday - but that doesn't mean that it's all bad. In fact in Idaho Falls, Mr. Alice Cooper is playing and performing. How cool it would be to be having a Halloween based party today capped off with an evening with Mr. Welcome to my Nightmare.

Next week is the final week of True Ghost Stories on EBL - so be sure to call-in and share yours. I thank everyone who has done so, so far.

That's about it. Even unknowingly when included within words - like just now. . .

I've had a fascination with words - they carry with them (thrice now) such power that can crumble nations, break-hearts and mend hearts.

So - I'm playing single parent again this week. It's not as difficult as one may think, but I wouldn't want to do this - say 9 weeks out of the year. Oh wait. I do.

Two more times - are you keeping track?; because frankly - I'm going to stop.

This week on EBL - we are going to be focusing squarly on True Ghost Stories. All episode long we will only deal with Ghost Stories - no news - no chit chat about the weather or what's happening. . . just plain ghost stories.

Ok - I'm hyperbolizing but that's something in which I tend to to. You should be used to it by now. So - I'm kinda in the mood for a game: Perfect Phrases for that inopportune moment. However I'm not sure on what subject matter to play.

Perhaps Perfect Phrases for Treat-or-Treating while wallowing waves of guiltless gluttony galvanizes your arteries? Or the Perfect Phrase for a Police Officer pulling someone over.

Give it a go and let's see where we end up.Eskimo Bobhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02620064453780055916noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7927430743317089901.post-77300031518807646182009-10-04T15:20:00.002-08:002009-10-04T15:22:00.878-08:00EBL Episode 1440 minutes from the time of this post - EBL Radio will be going LIVE and interactive. There are planes attacking New York City!"

My mind, groggy from just being woken up - was filled with such noise and confusion all I thought of was: Red Dawn. (Red Dawn is a classic 80's movie made during the Cold War where the Russians infiltrate the heart of the U.S. and a group of young high school kids - The Wolverines fight back). I had a very intense nightmare months after watching it and was reminded of it when I was woken up.

"What - what's happening?" I tried to clarify.

"There are planes attacking New York City - Tammy just called and told me." Amber reported.

I have to mention that at this time we were new home buyers in Bethel and hadn't hooked up our cable or satellite yet, so we were at the mercy of NPR.

We sat glued to the radio - like my parents and grandparents before me listening to radio as war was being waged. This time - it was on our soil though.

"Did he say 'The World Trade Center'??? Are they fighter jets? Dropping bombs?"

"Shhhh!"

I thought who would even think of attacking the U.S.?

"The tower is collapsing!!"

"Did he say 'The World Trade Center'?" I asked.

"Yes."

"That's where Erika works!" (My 1st cousin - on my dad's side).

I tried to call to Virginia to my Uncles house. The lines were completely full - and calls couldn't go through.

I went to my dad's house - he wasn't awake yet - we turned on the television; it was worse than I could imagine in my head.

"That's where Erika works." my dad said.

"The lines are down - there's no way we can get a hold of Uncle Bill." I told him. We tried anyway.

I went home. It was four hours afterward that I finally got to talk to my aunt.

"Aunt Arlene? It's Bob."

"Erika's fine! She was supposed to fly to San Fransisco this morning. She didn't go - she's fine!"

The world hasn't been the same since. I'm grateful that my cousin averted death twice that day. She lost many friends and co-workers though and this time of year is difficult. My thoughts, prayers and tears go out to the families today that weren't as lucky as mine.

My gratitude and reverence goes to those brave souls who went into the burning buildings and didn't come back out. My gratitude and reverence goes out to those brave souls who are going to foreign shores today to protect our country. Especially to the recent three families of our soldiers who were stationed in Alaska before going to Afghanistan.

We live in such a blessed time and blessed country. I pray that our soldiers will return home safely soon and that their families will be comforted during this time of service.Eskimo Bobhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02620064453780055916noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7927430743317089901.post-74350775036218032282009-09-06T18:40:00.003-08:002009-09-30T15:07:30.350-08:00Episode 10Episode 10 is in the can and is the best show to date! Not only did we make a huge announcement regarding the show that will forever change the direction and content of Eskimo Bob Lives; but also I had one of the best interviews to date. I would like to thank Jeannie Greene from Heartbeat Alaska for taking time out of her schedule on such short notice to help out my little show. You can find more information about Jeannie and her projects at http://www.jeanniegreene.com

I'm very excited for next week's show. We have Katie Rice an artist that is putting out a new print this week - she was also an animator/artist for the Ren & Stimpy show. You can preview some of Katie's work at http://funnycute.blogspot.com

Next week I am also going to be dropping some HUGE NEWS! You will not want to miss the first 15 minutes of the show! Tell your friends! Thanks for making EBL one of the fastest growing showsEskimo Bobhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02620064453780055916noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7927430743317089901.post-59044145367211333822009-08-30T17:08:00.003-08:002009-09-30T15:06:29.941-08:00Eskimo Bob Lives Episode 9So Episode 9 is in the bag. I appreciate folks who have listened live - it's growing each week the number of folks who take time out of their schedule to spend some time with me and my psyche developed from my twisted youth.

Several things have happened in the last two weeks that have really allowed me to take stock and evaluate what this little project has become. . . I'm not going to be breaking anything, but certain things have been put in motion that seem to be cause of some giddiness. All I will have to say for the time being is a huge appreciation to everyone who supports the show by listening to it - and if for the next two - three weeks if you could share the show with one or two new people that would be great.

I haven't been able to follow-up as much as I would like on the blogspot, which is really too bad because it is because of the blogspot that landed me the radio gig. I realized that the blogspot will only enhance the show - but I'm still a working man and can't be slave to too many masters.

Please enjoy the premiere episode of the beginning of the third month of EBL radio - it has a lot of positive information that will lead you on a path of enlightenment and bliss and will end with your soul seeking purification, a dichotomy rich with the inner turmoil that is . . . Eskimo Bob.

Eskimo Bob Lives Episode 9

Shared via AddThisEskimo Bobhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02620064453780055916noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7927430743317089901.post-9821794653997040112009-08-27T11:40:00.003-08:002009-09-30T15:05:59.328-08:00Historic 8th EpisodeSo it's been awhile - CHECK OUT THE HISTORIC 8TH EPISODE - it'll blow your mind!

Sorry for yelling.
8 Episode, that means 2 months on the air.

We're taking calls throughout the show - so be sure to call in and be a part of the fun. Episode 9 is all about health so be sure to tune in and learn something cool.

Also THE most controversial skit will be aired. . . I don't think there will ever be anything more disturbing than what is presented this weekend. You will also get a peek into what goes on behind the scenes in developing the show - it should be a lot of fun.Eskimo Bobhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02620064453780055916noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7927430743317089901.post-49037808346645355822009-08-18T14:58:00.004-08:002009-08-18T15:09:04.727-08:00Plagiaristic Tendencies"You aren't anyone until someone steals your words."
- Bob

I've been plagiarized!! How awesome is that? I guess I'd be more upset about it if I didn't realize that the English language has been in use for the past couple hundred years - so someone somewhere must've already said something I've said.

So even in my wildest attempt to come up with something new and inventive it would've all happened before. I know that in 1925 there was some guy hammerin' away in his little apartment or maybe out in a farm field who came up with the lyrics to 'Ghostbusters' s/he had just the good notion that "This sucks - I'm not gonna put my name on this!" . . . until nearly 60 years later Ray Parker Jr. decided: "Now's the time - and I'm gonna call Ghostbusters!"

So just a couple of weeks ago I posted a written blog - and on the same day; someone plagiarized me. Here is a link to the original post: Written Word.

Here is the plagiarized post: Written Couch.

My only wish would be that it didn't suck so badly. . . I mean - it's horrible and great at the same time. Well - off I go. Be sure to listen live on Sunday @ 4 PM Alaska time, 8 PM Eastern and every time between!! It's the HISTORIC 2nd Month Celebratory Bash of EBL!!Eskimo Bobhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02620064453780055916noreply@blogger.com3
